Dr. Angelo Rivero Santos
Before joining the Venezuelan Foreign Service as Minister Counselor for Political Affairs of the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington, DC in March 2007, Dr. Rivero-Santos served as the Director of Academic Affairs at the Center for Latin American Studies at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University where he coordinated the Venezuela Program and taught graduate seminars on Latin American political economy and development. Dr. Rivero-Santos has also taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, the Graduate Program of International Relations at Universidad Central de Venezuela, Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California, and has been a researcher with United Nations Research for Social Development (UNRISD) in Geneva, Switzerland, and with the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, DC. Dr. Rivero - Santos earned his Ph.D. at the Maxwell School, where he also earned his Master’s in Public Administration and Master’s in Economics. In August 2007, he was named Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the United States and in September 2008 as Charge D’Affaires.
