The group of 120 nations issued a statement Saturday rejecting the latest set of sanctions imposed by the United States against Venezuelan officials. The Non-Aligned Movement described the sanctions as “intended to undermine Venezuela's sovereignty, its political independence and its right to self-determination.”
The Non-Aligned Movement, considers the unilateral sanctions a “violation of international law, including the United Nations Charter and the basic principles of international law of relations between states”. Furthermore the group of nations considered the measure “coercive” and manifested its solidarity with the Venezuelan people and their government.
The UNASUR group of South American nations has also rejected the sanctions and will launch a probe to evaluate Venezuela's evidence of U.S. meddling in internal affairs.

Communiqué of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement to protest the latest decision of the Government of the United States, dated February 2, 2015, to expand unilateral coercive measures against Venezuela.
The Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement categorically rejects the recent decision of the Government of the United States, from last February 2, 2015, to expand its unilateral coercive measures against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, for the purpose of undermine its sovereignty, its political independence and the right to self-determination, in a clear violation of international law, including the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations and the Declaration on Principles of International Law concerning the Friendly Relations and the Cooperation among States, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.
The Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement expresses its solidarity and support to the people and Government of Venezuela in opposition to these illegal actions, and urges the Government of the United States to desist from such illegal coercive measures, which affect the spirit of dialogue and political understanding between the two nations.
