Venezuela 's presentation to the United Nations (UN ) on its implementation of anti-corruption mechanisms will be held at a meeting in Vienna, Austria, from May 28th to the 30th.
In relation to strategies to develop and test the implementation of the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), the representatives of Venezuela , members of the Technical Support Committee (CAT ) for the implementation of this instrument and the country evaluators – the United Arab Emirates and Chile – held a joint meeting on Wednesday in the Comptroller General's Office to clarify with all involved agencies just what have been the countries progress against corruption, says a press release from the Comptroller General.
In addition to the Comptroller General, the joint meeting in Vienna will be attended by representatives of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ ) , the Attorney General's Office and the Superintendent of Banking Sector Institutions, to directly present the progress made in their work areas.
Venezuela has provided a comprehensive checklist and answered the questionnaire and provided observations solicited by both examining countries.
At this first meeting of the CAT the work patterns for 2014 are also set. The set activities planned include meeting the requirements of the Inter-American Convention Against Corruption ( ICAC), and given that Venezuela is being evaluated in the framework of the fourth round Venezuela must update the answers given in the questionaire according to the provisions of the Convention, the press release added.
