On Twitter this morning, President Nicolas Maduro expressed the love and loyalty of the Venezuelan people toward the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez, who passed away exactly nine months ago today.
Using the hashtag #A9MesesDeTuSiembraComandante (“nine months since your sowing, commander”) Maduro wrote via his account, @NicolasMaduro: “A whole people defends your legacy, building the socialist future of the nation.”
He added: “Your image was immortalized in the love and loyalty of the people of Venezuela for your example.”
In another message referring to Sunday’s municipal elections, he wrote: “The people are preparing to deliver you a new victory and continue having a homeland.”
The messages were accompanied by photographs of various key moments in the life of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution.
A few days ago, Venezuela remembered Chávez’s reelection on December 2, 2006, when he obtained the highest number of votes of any contemporary candidate in national history, with over 7.3 million votes, or 62.84% support.
