At the Venezuelan Consulate in New York
New York: In view of the 5th anniversary of the creation of the Coalition of Latin American Consuls in New York (CLACLNY), on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. the art exhibit “Latin American Liberators: A Colossal Cultural Treasure” will open at Our America Gallery of the General Consulate of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in New York.
This exhibit aims to show the richness of the region’s icons, both women and men, and highlights the contribution of heroic women, whose legacy has long been obscured by traditional history.
Manuela Sáenz, Policarpa Salavarrieta, Simón Bolívar, José Artigas, José de San Martín, Betances, José Martí and Gregorio Luperón, among others, represent the dreams, the discontent, the hopes, our epic struggles, advances and set-backs that interconnect in a historic current that is presented as a colossal cultural, social, political and ethical treasure.
The exhibit is a compilation of works that were loaned by Latin American consulates in New York. The event will feature the participation of Consuls and representatives from the Republic of Argentina, the Republic of Chile, the Republic of Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, the Republic of Ecuador, the Republic of El Salvador, the Republic of Guatemala, the United Mexican States, the Republic of Nicaragua, the Republic of Peru, the Eastern Republic of Uruguay and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Other invited nations include Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba and Puerto Rico.
