Permanent Representative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Organization of American States
*On this date and with the haste that defines the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) when it comes to defaming the Bolivarian government of Venezuela, Inter-American Commission on Human Rights’ commissioner, Sergio Pinheiro, and his rapporteur for freedom of expression issued a statement to once again please Venezuela’s incurable coup supporters, representatives of the country’s media dictatorship and the extreme right-wing of the Inter-American system.
*Mr. Pinheiro is the same curious character that has trivialized Venezuelan diplomatic protests several times responding to the growing decomposition of the IACHR, caused to a large extent by the continuous interference of a mafia of international human rights bureaucrats promoted and financed by the American University in Washington, D.C. and infiltrated into the Inter-American system with the complicity of its highest top officials. He is also the same person that, questioned by a representative of the Venezuelan state regarding the IACHR’s malicious behavior towards Venezuela, stated last year in front of the TV cameras “I’m not a God to give explanations!”
*The IACHR is the institution that since 1989 and over the course of six years evaded the facts of the popular protests known as the “Caracazo,” which occurred in Venezuela on February 27-28, 1989 and that is considered the biggest massacre in our hemisphere since the creation of the OAS. The IACHR also recognized the pro-coup “government” that overthrew President Hugo Chavez in 2002 and rejected the massacre of indigenous people carried out by the repressive neoliberal government of Gonzalo Sanchez Lozada in El Alto, Bolivia. The IACHR is the same institution that in 2009 did not obey the mandate issued by the OAS General Assembly during a solemn session held in the OAS headquarters in Medellin in 2008, in commemoration of the 60TH anniversary of the universal declaration of human rights.
*With that statement, the IACHR is seen as an ally of those who by private initiative of the media dictatorship decided to censure a message of the Venezuelan president, violating the laws that regulate in Venezuela, as in any democratic system, the functioning of media. This situation does not seem to surprise those who know that the current board of directives of the pro-coup TV channel RCTV headed the censorship in all private media -- since 1984 to its death in 2007 -- of a former Venezuelan president who “dared” to prohibit advertising alcoholic beverages and cigarettes in radio and TV.
*It is surprising that every time that the Venezuelan democratic government applies the law to those who used to purchase its immunity and impunity with money, political support and blackmail, the IACHR -- recurrently violating its own rules – receives and issues statements on the politicized denounces without appealing to the due internal instances. In this sense, Mr. Paulo Pinheiro, who assumed the role of an IACHR spokesman today, continues serving very well his tutors in Washington. He is also contributing to make the Organization of American States even more irrelevant.
