Third Capture Within First 20 days of 2010
The Minister of People’s Power for Interior and Justice, Tareck El Aissami, informed that on Wednesday officials of the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigative Body (CICPC) captured the French drug-trafficker Jean Marie Bonnamy, who is being sought by Interpol.
During a phone contact broadcasted by the state-owned TV channel VTV, Minister El Aissami announced that Bonammy was detained in Nueva Esparta state. Bonammy is accused of drug trafficking, criminal conspiracy and heading a criminal gang responsible for drug trafficking in Europe.
Furthermore, the Venezuelan official remarked that this is the third drug-trafficker captured within the first 20 days of 2010.
The minister said that after the intelligence investigations of the Venezuelan authorities, the drug-trafficker was captured and transported to Caracas.
