In order to explore Venezuelan tourism development at the international level, the Americas regional representative of the World Tourism Organization (WTO), Carlos Vogeler, held a meeting this Wednesday with the Minister of People’s Power for Tourism (Mintur), Pedro Morejón, in the context of a meeting with tourism’s ministers of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of our Americas (ALBA).
Arriving at Maiquetía International Airport, Vogeler, accompanied by the president of the National Institute of Tourism, Zaida Carrillo, express his commitment in continuing the ongoing relations with the government of Venezuela through Mintur.
Regarding the upcoming Venezuelan International Tourism Fair (FitVen 2009), Vogeler stated that the event is currently affiliated member of the WTO and that Venezuela has been collaborating with this organization to develop tourism at a global level.
Vogeler stated that opening of FitVen 2009 coincides with the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization, an important members’ meeting that is held every two years. This year, the meeting will be held in the Republic of Kazakhstan in Central Asia.
Vogeler, a native of Táchira state, said “there is a favorable and positive evolution that includes greater professionalism.” He championed the success of FitVen 2009, saying that Venezuela still has potential to develop and the fair is a new opportunity to promote the natural beauty and architecture present is in each region.
