At the request of the Public Ministry, an arrest warrant was issued for Lina Ron, for her alleged participation in events that occurred on Monday, August 3 at the facilities of television channel Globovision, located in Caracas.
In this sense, the 18th Circuit Preliminary Proceedings Court in Caracas agreed to the measure solicited by the Public Ministry and consequently issued an arrest warrant.
Once the warrant is served, Ron must appear before the magistrate.
According to images broadcasted by the television company, a group of motorcyclists appeared in front of Globovision headquarters and threw teargas bombs into the building after allegedly subduing security personnel with firearms.
The district attorney on the case is coordinating with officials from the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigative Body (CICPC) to perform all necessary procedures to elucidate the facts and determine relevant penal liabilities.
As part of the procedure, a technical inspection was performed at the site and videos relevant to the facts were obtained.
Additionally, the district attorneys requested the medical reports for the Metropolitan Police official and Globovision security guard who were both hurt in the event.
