More than 700 projects executed in 3 states by community councils were presented this Thursday to the General Comptroller of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Ministry of People's Power for Community Development. The meeting was held to render accounts of these institutions
about the legality and uses of the allocated resources.
During this event, the authorities were able to attest that 500 of the 700 projects used the resources in an efficient way. Therefore, it was even possible to solve other problems in those communities.
This was expressed by the Minister of People's Power for Community Development, Érika Farías, who also stated that the projects of the community councils are daily examples of the manner in which the people use their potential and their capacity in their communities.
In 2008, the state financed 11,728 projects of community councils in the entire country, which translates into US $200 million.
