Guillermo Zuloaga’s lawyer will be charged for obstruction of justice in a raid ordered by a judge in Caracas on May 21 and where 24 motor vehicles were allegedly being hidden. Zuloaga is partial owner of the private TV channel Globovisión.
This information was offered on Monday by Venezuela´s Attorney General,
Luisa Ortega Díaz, in a TV interview on the state channel VTV.
Ortega recalled that according the law "all Venezuelans have the duty to collaborate with the justice department. People must provide access to investigative officials in this type of proceedings."
Officials could have apprehended the people who were obstructing the investigation in that moment," because the act was committed in flagrante. Ortega said that the people involved in this case could be indicted this week; nevertheless, no specific names were given.
Likewise, she indicated that there will be two separate accusations regarding this case.. One for irregularities regarding how some vehicles were allegedly being hidden, for which Guillermo Zuloaga was indicted. The second is strictly related to the obstruction of justice during the raid on the legal domicile.
