The performance of Hugo Chávez Frías as president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is considered as good by 66.4% of the population. These figures were obtained by Félix Seijas' Instituto Venezolano de Analisis de Datos (IVAD) pollster from May 18 to 25 of this year.
The journalist José Vicente Rangel showed these figures during his Sunday program on Televen, a privately owned channel, and stated that the poll indicated that 52.7% of Venezuelans believe that things have improved during the government of President Chávez.
The poll also surveyed political activism by party, with the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) topping the list with 33.8%, followed by First Justice (Primero Justicia) with 4.5%, A New Time (Un Nuevo Tiempo) 4.3%, Democratic Action (Accion Democratica) 2.9%, Copei 2.8%, Project Venezuela (Proyecto Venezuela) 2.5%, others 5.8%, with independents totaling 43.6%.
