The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Hugo Chavez Frias announced the creation of a bilateral commission with Venezuela and El Salvador, to begin the work of developing cooperative projects between both countries.
The announcement was the culmination of a meeting held on Tuesday with the president-elect of the Central American country Mauricio Funes where “from today we begin to work on the evaluation of Petrocaribe, and commercial, economic, energy, and social exchange,” said Chavez.
Likewise, on the first of June he will visit the Central American nation to celebrate Funes’ inauguration.
Chavez expressed that Venezuela is jubilant over the visit of Funes, with whom they want to strengthen a new spirit of Latin American unity.
“Here we unite the consciousness of the Liberator and Farabundo Marti, who fought for necessary integration, and the great responsibility of our peoples, each country with a sovereign government but united in our affections, our spirits, by which we will generate new ways, and the shape of a grand geopolitical space of equality, liberty, and happiness for our peoples, and happy we are to have received it.”
Chavez emphasized that “Venezuela is always your home, may God bless El Salvador and help us to make a reality all to which we have agreed tonight,” for our Latin American peoples.
