“Today we begin to recuperate goods that pass into the hands of the estate. Social property, as it always should have been,” expressed the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez Frias, on Thursday in the Council of Ministries, upon enacting the Organic Law that Reserves to the State Goods and Services Connected to the Primary Activities of Hydrocarbons.
The law, approved by the National Assembly, anticipates the absorption of at least 8,000 petroleum workers, previously contracted by third parties, and who are essential for the development of the petroleum sector.
During the speech, President Chavez thanked and congratulated the president of the National Assembly, Cilia Flores, and the members of the government who made the new law possible.
The law was published in the Gaceta Oficial, in a special edition and distributed the same Thursday, May 7.
