The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, through the Coastguard Command of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces, abiding by the United Nations Convention and the International Cooperation in relation to the struggle against illegal drug trafficking, authorized the Spanish Armed Force the visit and search protocol to the fishing boat named “DOÑA FORTUNA” hoisting the Venezuelan flag, with the serial AGSP-1945, and anchored 688 miles from Madeira, Portugal, in international waters, which is presumed to be used for illegal drug trafficking. It is of our knowledge that five (5) Venezuelans are on board and at Spanish authorities’ disposal.
This action, together with the diverse policies implemented by our government, shows the unshakeable and firm will of the Venezuelan State and its institutions to fight against this crime, and refutes all libels and manipulations pretending to discredit the rightfulness and objective results, recognized by the international community, of the Bolivarian Government and its policies in this connection.
The results of these procedures will be eventually presented.
