The Bolivarian government approved $1.328 billion in funds for the Ministry of People’s Power for Infrastructure for the undertaking of national infrastructure project such as the paving of highways and streets and the completion of railways.
The money will come from the National Development Fund, said President Chávez in announcing that $486 million will also be sent to the Ministry of People’s Power for the Environment. The Ministry will use this money for projects related to clean drinking water and sanitation.
The President also announced the approval of fund for the development of petrochemical projects, among them factories for disposable diapers, petrocasas (government built houses), and olefins.
President Chávez indicated that a petrocasa factory will be built in Tiuna Fort in Caracas as part of the Socialist Caracas Plan.
Regarding socialism, he called upon his Cabinet members and the Legislative Branch to fill Venezuela with this new economic, political, social and culture system: “Socialism: either we do it or it will never exist.”
“I swear to you now that I will dedicate myself one hundred times more, with more intensity on the job, in the operations of government, in the efficiency of plans, in the advancement of the objectives established by the people, the Constitution, and the government,” President Chávez said.
He then reiterated his commitment to the Venezuelan people by running for office again to lead the Venezuelan nation between 2013 and 2019.
