Voters can correctly exercise their right by selecting their option on the voting screen, waiting for the checkmark to appear and then pressing the digital vote button. That is how Jazmín Jaimes, a representative from the National Electoral Council (CNE), explained the process.
Moments after exercising his right to vote, CNE Director Vicente Díaz said: “It is important that every voter makes sure that the checkmark appears on the screen; if it has not appeared, [the voter] has not selected any option, so do not press vote, because if the voter presses [the vote button] without the checkmark, the voting receipt will appear blank because the machine assumes that no vote is registered, and in that case, voters cannot try to vote again.”
Díaz explained that while this only happens in a few cases, he urged the media to broadcast this information.
