Israeli newspaper Haaretz shamelessly lies, does not know Venezuela and also attempts to distort the country in the eyes of the Israeli people, said Nicolás Maduro Moros, Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday.
Referring to an article published by that newspaper titled “In Venezuela, anti-Semitism is endorsed by the government”, Foreign Minister Maduro emphasized that the government of Venezuela guarantees equality, religious freedoms and non-discrimination based on religion.
In a telephone conversation with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he added that the Venezuelan Constitution directly expresses the right of all citizens to freedom of religion and religious equality. “The entire Muslim, Jewish, Christian community, every [religious community], knows that religious discrimination is not a problem that our society has or will ever have.
Maduro considered the article to be a reactionary response of certain Israeli government elites that are attempting to join the defamatory campaign that imperialists are waging against the Bolivarian government.
