President Nicolas Maduro announced today via Twitter that 22,617 seniors were incorporated into the pension system of the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (IVSS), through the Great Mission Homes of the Nation, a program created in 2014 as part of the social offensive to eradicate extreme poverty in the country.
He said that this is an act of social justice for the Venezuelan population, and honored the legacy of Commander Hugo Chavez, the main promoter returning dignity to the people. "With the love of Chavez, for our country's seniors, I am assigning pensions for 22,600 people," he wrote.
Visitors to the IVSS (www.ivss.gob.ve) website must enter the Venezuelan ID and the date of birth of the person opting for the pension, in order to corroborate if it was already assigned.
