Venezuela Requests That UN Security Council Study Colombia's Armed Conflict

On Wednesday, November 25 the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela filed a request with the UN Security Council asking that the body study the ongoing armed conflict in Colombia. The conflict poses a serious threat to international peace and stability, a situation that has been exacerbated by the installation of seven U.S. military bases in Colombian territory, stated Caracas.

The request was made in accordance with Resolution S/ 1894 of the Security Council and is part of the official letter that the Venezuelan Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs submitted to the President of the Security
